Frequently Asked Questions

  • What places will we visit?

We will discover the Palazzo Brera, home to one of the most important art galleries in Italy, the Pinacoteca di Brera.

We will visit the Sforza Castle, a spectacular 15th-century Renaissance castle located in the heart of Milan.

In Cairoli, we will get to know Giuseppe Garibaldi, one of Italy's national heroes.

Of course, we will uncover the secrets of Milan's impressive cathedral in Piazza del Duomo.

We will stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the world's first shopping malls.

We will finish the tour in Piazza della Scala, where we will admire the prestigious Teatro alla Scala, the place where the magnificent Giuseppe Verdi developed as an artist.

  • What should I do if I signed up but in the end cannot attend the guided tour?

It is important to cancel your reservation to avoid taking a spot from other travelers or making the guide come for nothing. It only takes a few seconds to cancel from the confirmation email or from your control panel.

  • Will the tour still take place if it rains?

Rain, snow, or shine, the tour guide will be willing to carry out the walking tour as long as participants arrive on time, are willing to do the whole tour, and have good energy.

At Turixe, we stay positive even with bad weather. We recommend bringing a waterproof raincoat, boots, and an umbrella just in case.

  • What if the tour is full on the day I want to book?

You can check availability again a few hours later in case a traveler with a reservation has canceled. This is more likely to happen within 24 hours before the tour starts.

You can also show up 10 minutes before the tour starts at the meeting point, and there is a good chance you'll be able to join the tour with a guide, but it is not 100% guaranteed. Keep in mind that calendar events marked 'Not available' are probably not happening. If you come without a reservation, we cannot guarantee there will be a spot, nor that the tour will take place.

  • What else is there to do in Milan in summer?

Milan is a city where you can do many things in summer besides a guided city tour.

You can visit the Navigli (Milan's canals), a leisure area where it is quite typical to have an aperitif at sunset.

First, cool off, as Milan's humid heat can be devastating. If you're in the center, you can get a pistachio gelato at Ciacco, an ice cream shop two minutes from the Duomo.

You can also go to Piazza Gae Aulenti (in the financial district), where you'll see large skyscrapers among which the Bosco Verticale stands out. A vertical forest full of native Lombardy plants and trees.

Near the financial area, you can find one of the most spectacular cemeteries in Europe, the Monumental Cemetery. Full of tombs that are real works of art, some belonging to famous families like Campari, Versace, etc.

There are also hidden churches in the center that will surely surprise you, such as San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, also known as the Sistine Chapel of Milan. It's right on Corso Magenta and entry is free.

How much does the Free Tour cost?

The free tour does not have a set price from the start. At the end of the tour, you decide the price you think is fair based on how much you enjoyed it.
