What will we do?
If you already know Alcalá de Henares and you are almost an expert, we propose in this tour to go into one of the most unknown areas of the city, the Christian quarter. We will begin our route in the Plaza de los Santos Niños, the place where two of our protagonists, the Justo and Pastor children, were beheaded. Then, we will raise our eyes to discover the Roman inscriptions hidden in the Cathedral-Magistral, to then walk through the old "red light district" of Alcala, revealing the most unknown ins and outs of the old brothel.
The War of Independence in the region of the Henares River will also be one of the topics that we will approach, through the hand of one of its most popular and beloved heroes in the town of Cervantes: the Empecinado.
We will discover several convents full of history, curiosities and traditions that are still alive, while we follow the trail of duels, fights and murders that took place in dark alleys, cases of witchcraft, renowned inquisitorial processes and even the origin of the oldest profession in the world.
